Resident Surveys are surveys conducted by a member of your staff with a resident using a tablet or laptop. Surveys are conducted using scripts and frequencies determined by your organization. The purpose of Resident Surveys are to gather feedback from your residents to learn where your organization can improve.
Best Practices:
- Your organization's Cortex Champion is responsible for conducting surveys as soon as a patient is eligible for their survey.
- A tablet (such as an iPad) or laptop should be used to administer a survey.
- The champion should identify themselves to the resident and explain the purpose of the Resident Surveys. Remember to remain neutral and ask for additional details from the patient as you are conducting the survey.
- Any resident concerns should be addressed in a timely manor.
How to conduct a survey:
- Log into Cortex.
Click "Start Resident Survey".
- Select or search for the name of the patient you would like to survey.
Click "Start Survey Now" (you may also reschedule or cancel a survey if appropriate during this step).
Ask the resident each question on the survey and mark the appropriate response. You should also include notes in the note box if the resident provides additional feedback.
Once the survey is complete, click "Submit".
